TravelHoster

A marketplace that turns travel planning into a two-way conversation.

TravelHoster is a web-based travel marketplace connecting travelers directly with verified tour operators. I designed and structured core user journeys across both mobile and web—defining custom trip routing (“Tailor Trip”), live operator price bidding, feature parity across device form factors, and complete administration dashboards.

Core Product Pillars

Four structural pillars built to ensure transparency, competitive pricing, and flexible trip customization.

1 Discover Travel Packages

Rich visual exploration catalogues with curated multi-day packages, verified traveler reviews, transparent daily schedules, and upfront pricing.

2 Customize Your Trip

The “Tailor Trip” interactive request builder allows travelers to specify custom flight choices, hotel star tiers, group size, and flexible dates.

3 Connect & Negotiate

Direct 2-way bidding chat between customers and vetted tour operators, enabling customized counter-offers, itinerary revisions, and live price negotiations.

4 Smart Matching Engine

Backend request routing filtering inbound customer inquiries to qualified operators based on regional expertise, response velocity, and historical completion ratings.

Role & End-to-End System Contributions

Focused on building a scalable, consistent marketplace platform across multiple user personas (Traveler, Tour Operator, Superadmin).

  • Designed and structured core user flows: discovering travel catalogues, submitting bespoke trip requests, and booking confirmed itineraries.
  • Ensured rigorous feature parity across mobile and desktop viewpoints, eliminating information fragmentation between screen sizes.
  • Architected the end-to-end logic for the “Tailor Trip” intake engine, routing inquiries to operators based on strict eligibility criteria.
  • Created operator management consoles with lead tracking, bid history, booking confirmation state machines, and real-time revenue analytics.
  • Built dynamic CMS schemas allowing operations teams to update promotional banners, seasonal destination collections, and pricing rules without engineering dependencies.
Marketplace Dynamics & Negotiation Logic

Marketplaces thrive on balanced incentives: reducing traveler booking friction while maximizing operator inquiry response rates.

  • Mapped complex multi-party marketplace interactions between price-sensitive leisure travelers and specialized regional operators.
  • Defined operator triage priorities: inquiries auto-expire after 24 hours to prevent stale negotiations and maintain high conversion velocity.
  • Engineered custom price breakdown schemas with transparent line items: base fare, taxes, add-on excursions, and deposit split payments.
  • Conducted user testing on negotiation screens to prevent low-ball spam and foster collaborative, respectful quote iterations.
Platform Outcomes & Delivered Experience

My design and system structuring established the core operational foundation of TravelHoster. By transforming standard travel booking into a personalized two-way conversation, the platform bridged the gap between traveler desires and operator capabilities—enabling transparent negotiations, higher booking confidence, and scalable marketplace expansion.
